Our Academics

Students of Central Valley Christian School receive a quality, hands-on education through multi-grade classroom environments with low student to teacher ratios where students learn to help one another in a family-like atmosphere.

Teachers engage students in project-based learning opportunities that provide real world examples to enhance their textbook lessons.

Mathematics

Our math standards are created in cooperation with the Oregon Conference, the NPUC, and the NAD, from a Seventh-day Adventist worldview perspective. Although it is important for these teams to connect with all other available standards, the standards remain our own.
We do not use Common Core standards and are not bound to any curriculum, testing, or other elements of the Common Core. Although there is a Common Core logo on the front of each textbook, close inspection reveals the complete series meets NAD standards and exceeds all other standards.

Language Arts & Science

As with mathematics, our language arts and science standards are created in cooperation with the Oregon Conference, the NPUC, and the NAD, from a Seventh-day Adventist worldview perspective.

Bible Curriculum

Being a Seventh-day Adventist church school we provide students with a Bible curriculum that emphasizes Biblical principles and most importantly, an individual relationship with Jesus Christ. Students will have opportunities to grow in their understanding of the Bible and nurture a relationship with Jesus as their best friend.

Character Education

As a Christ-centered school, CVCS emphasizes the development of a Christ-like character with our students. These character traits are woven into curriculum, school-wide worship, visual messaging and daily interactions.
