Serving students with special needs

Central Valley Christian School believes that every child deserves to learn in an educational environment that helps them develop to their fullest potential, into a more perfect likeness of the image of God in which they were created. We believe that a Christian school campus is the place where this can happen for most students. However, CVCS does not claim to provide a specialized educational program for those who have been identified or are suspected to have learning disabilities, nor does it claim that its teachers have any training in identifying or addressing learning disabilities.

Should a student have an existing Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or 504 Plan from another school or district, if parent suspects that his/her child has a learning disability,  or the possibility has been suggested to the parent by an educational professional, it is the responsibility of the parent to: a) inform the CVCS principal at the time of enrollment or when a concern develops, and b) work with the teachers and administration at CVCS to provide the support the child might need to successfully complete his/her grade level.

CVCS may request, at any time, that: a) a parent seek testing for a student when a learning disability is suspected, or b) a student withdraw from school due to a lack of specialized resources and personnel available to ensure the success of a student with special education needs.
