Have you noticed the new sign on the driveway, right as you cross into the school parking lot?
Andrew Lane.
Curious why?
When our new driveway was put in, it happened through a series of many miracles—both big and small—and hundreds of hours of work by one very special volunteer. We wanted to find a way to thank this person who spent countless hours helping make it happen. But he didn’t want the attention.
Instead, he reminded us that rather than nicknaming the driveway after him, we should name it after the disciple who brought people to Jesus: Andrew.
Andrew was the disciple who brought the little boy with five loaves and two fish to Jesus. Jesus then took that simple lunch and used it to feed 5,000 people.
I love that story because the little boy’s lunch seemed so small, but when it was brought to Jesus, He was able to do something incredible with it.
At Central Valley, we desire every day to do more than just teach our students their academic lessons. We long to help them grow in a closer relationship with Jesus. We want them to know Him, love Him, and learn to bring others to Him—just as Andrew did so many times.
So the next time you’re driving onto campus, take a look at our Andrew Lane sign.
And remember: You can bring someone to Jesus, too. You never know what He might do with something that seems small.
