This month at school, our spiritual theme is “Jesus First in My Choices.”
We are focusing on the Bible verse: “Choose this day whom you will serve…But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.” – Joshua 24:15.
Your child will be learning how to put Jesus first by:
- Making choices that honor Jesus: Choosing kindness, honesty, and respect, even when it isn’t the easiest thing to do.
- Thinking before we act: Asking ourselves, “What would Jesus want me to do?” when faced with difficult decisions.
- Choosing to follow God every day: Understanding that our everyday choices show others who we love and serve.
Try this at home:
Talk together about everyday choices your family makes. When faced with a decision, ask, “Does this choice show that we are putting Jesus first?” You could even share a few real-life situations and discuss what it might look like to make a choice that honors God. Remind your child that we won’t always make the right choice, but Jesus is always ready to forgive us and help us make better choices next time.
